This morning I woke up, and the sun was shining into my room. As one of our teachers (Ondine) told me later, I had the typical English breakfast: cereals. Later I went to school by bike with Laura and Ezgi. It took us fifteen minutes. We live in a district far away from the

city centre, in Trumpington. As usual in school, we had a briefing first, during which we were informed about the daily program. Then we went in our classrooms. Today we have talked about British food, which was very interesting. We heard about some special British food like bacon and egg ice cream. I think the food is very strange, but it is much better than its reputation. Every evening since I arrived here, I have had some potatoes for dinner. That is the staple food in England, although we have learnt in classes today, that curry is the food which is eaten most often in England. After the break at a half past eleven we had our second teacher Joel. We had a conversation about brands and advertising.

At the end we played kind of a game in which we had to plan an advertising campaign. It was a lot of fun. After school we went into the city centre to eat something. I went with some friends in a small restaurant to try the most famous British food: fish and chips. Against my expectation it was quite tasty.

In the afternoon we had some time to work on our own projects. We all had a topic which we will have to present next week. Our topic is Trinity College, the biggest and richest college in Cambridge. So my group, which includes Michelle, Valentina and Samuel, went to Trinity College and had a look. The college is very impressive and huge. Later I rode home to my host family. At 6 o’clock I ate there together with my host mother and another language student. He is Japanese, and it is very interesting to hear things of the Japanese culture.
Although we didn’t have a special event today, it has been a nice day and we have had a lot of fun.
