Saturday 12.05.18

Today was Saturday, the day everyone was looking for. We were finally going to London and for many of us this meant SHOPPING.
We met at 9 O'Clock at the Cambridge train station, as the train was leaving at 9:12. Everyone was quite excited to see the wonderful city of London and eat Fish and Chips. Although there were very few free seats remaining and most of us had to ride the train while standing up, the train ride passed quickly. After arriving the first misfortune occurred. Tim had thrown away his Ticket, which he needed to travel with the tube. He had to buy a new one for 12 pounds, ouch. In the morning everyone attended a city tour in three different groups, lead by our wonderful teachers. Right after the tour ended all the students went off on their shopping tours. Some had already exactly planned their route and were on a tight schedule. Others relaxed a little more and just casually went into some different shops. For most of the students 4 hours just weren't enough to visit all of the shops they wanted to and to find something they liked. Others again went sightseeing although it was raining. A popular spot to see of course was the Buckingham Palace. We were lucky, because the the Queen seemed to be at home!
After the 4 hours of free time, we met at the London Eye for a boat tour on the river Thames. It was nice to see the city from a different perspective and also to see the different bridges, especially the Tower Bridge from very close. we returned by train, which departed at 18:14. The train ride took about 40 minutes and most of us had a place to seat. Arrived in Cambridge, one could truly say:"It's raining Cats and Dogs!"
All of us were very tired and just went home to sleep in the next morning.
